Hey guys it's Paul, just posting possible ideas. What I think we should do is everybody should post their ideas and we rank the ideas by number 1-?, 1 being the most liked. We can then take the ideas and count up the numbers and see which idea is most liked and go with that.

Hey, it's Elena. I'm not sure where we're supposed to rank the idea, so I'll just put my rankings in the brackets next to the idea.

BRAINSTORMING
- Spoofs of Pop culture (eg. Shark fin soup, jersey shore fist pump) (3) (The new craze? Some sort of crazy new food type? Interview people on the 'street' - this could be us, one of us is the reporter, the other is asked their opinion? or advertisement for a new crazy food/activity? or short "Documentary")
- Spoofs of a music video (1) (do do a spoof we would have to replicate the video, perhaps too cumbersome?)
- News broadcast spoof (perhaps tied in with something from pop culture) (2) (We can do a realistic news report about something unusual or funny and we can all be a reporter? Maybe something like spoofing the hundreds of viruses that keep coming out; swine flu, bird flu, h1n1, sars by creating a new virus?)
- Funny voiceover of a movie or tv show (take a clip from a movie or tv show and add our own voices) (4) (perhaps too played out?)
- Spoof of a popular movie (a scene or an overall idea of the movie twisted with sarcasm) (5) (like the music video, maybe too cumbersome?)

More Ideas:
- Voiceover celebrity roast ; picture of a celebrity and a short roast of them
***- Fake a stunt/myth (ex. worlds longest fishing cast ; do shots of throwing reel out, reel flying, and landing spot making it look authentic) --> I kinda like this one because doing something that people think is real but they arent sure will increase likelyhood of passing the video to a friend for opinion. Do it like a 'guiness book of world records' attempt maybe? Crazy stunt? Mythbusters myth video's that they bust as an example ; people fake videos all the time and they go viral) - Another idea could be a crazy new iphone application (remote control car? or an app that does something crazy or unexpected? or eating something crazy like 1000 chocolate bars? -- Think of stunts/myths we could replicate using camera angles and editing :P (personally I think we can do the fishing one easily, go to a lake, make a story for it like "jake has been practicing casting for the last 6 years in hopes to beat the longest cast world record, and today is the big day ... make it kind of like a segment on a TV show or something?) Thoughts/Opinions/Suggestions/Ideas?
ex.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_HUYi9aVvI ... could be real, could be fake with video editing.

idea: worlds farthest egg thrower; "ex-baseball mogul xxx shows how a baseball arm can be used to throw eggs" ... use camera angles and editing tricks to extend travel? ... thinking something along these lines would be the easiest way to go ... something that shocks and confuses people into thinking it is real - Allen - I think the with the approach we are tryign to do, and sarcasm somewhat being overplayed (man that hurt to say for my huge love for it) regardless, the effects with distance and a sort of dissillusion to the viewier could prove to be promising.

Proposal for Group Final Project - Creating Viral Content (30%)
Our group plans to ... in order to create a viral video. A digital 1080p camera will be used for high quality video and audio, and editing will be done with the program 'Sony Vegas Video.' We will put the video on YouTube and also link it on facebook to increase awareness and possible sharing of the video. The internet as a new medium with hyperlinks is the quickest means systematically for a viral video. Content wise, the interested and attention grabbing quality of the content needs to be present.
